Wilo´s new sustainability report
Five years of voluntary information of the Dortmund pump expert
![]()
The new 2008 sustainability report focuses on the measures for improving energy efficiency and gives an updated overview of the sustainability measures and management systems already realised by Wilo. The report includes a detailed illustration of the economic, social and ecological performance factors including four-year comparisons in table form e. g. of activities concerning further education, employee structures, health care, consumption of energy and water as well as waste and recycling rates. A glossary explaining the most important technical terms facilitates the readers’ understanding.
Oliver Hermes, board member Finances, Controlling & Human Resources and Dr. Holger Krasmann, board member Technology & Production of the WILO SE, emphasise in their foreword the need to push energy efficiency in all areas, given the big challenges of climate change and the shortage of resources. Wilo has committed itself already for many years to this challenge by developing particularly energy-efficient products and acting in a sustainable way. A large part of research and development expenses are invested into improvement of product efficiency. Highly efficient products involve energy savings which, on the other hand, bring about conservation of resources. With its high-efficiency pump range, WILO SE is considered the ecological pioneer in the sector, and this regarding the entire value-added process: from development and production up to pump operation at the customer as well as recycling afterwards.
