PLR is the established Wilo protocol for the communication with pumps. It is based on a point-to-point connection and does not need addressing.

Many existing connections to building automation are based on this technology.PLR is a classic point-to-point connection between pump and pump master computer (PumpenLeitRechner = PLR). A physical interface is needed for every pump. The Wilo specific protocol is easy, it is based on the current loop principle and allows a transmission over long distances. For the interconnection of several pumps via an RS485 interface, Wilo offers the DigiCon interface converter.

The Wilo-DigiCon interface converter makes the PLR protocol available on the well-established and commonly used RS485 interface. All Wilo pumps with PLR interface become thus BUS-capable. Up to 4 pumps can be connected to one interface converter.
