Wilo Is Strongest Industrial Brand in Germany

Dortmund / Berlin, Germany. The renowned German Design Council and the German Brand Institute have presented Wilo with the German Brand Award in Gold. For the first time, companies that recognise the “importance of brand management as a crucial success factor” and implement this in a particularly distinguished way are honoured with this award. “We know about the power, effect and competitive edge of a strong brand, and thus live and breathe this at Wilo every day”, says Oliver Hermes, CEO at Wilo. “We are particularly proud of this award, as it honours our long-standing and multifarious efforts with regard to brand reinforcement.”

The German Brand Award is presented in three classes, which are then subdivided into categories. The Dortmund-based manufacturer of pumps and pump systems made the running in the class “Industry Excellence in Branding” in the category “Machines & Engineering”. Amongst all participants, there is only one company that is honoured with the highest award in “Gold”: “Against this backdrop, what we have achieved cannot be rated highly enough”, said Mr. Hermes during the awards ceremony.
 
“Making. Life. Easy.” For more than 140 years, Wilo has been guided by this triad in the development of its products and solutions. The focus is always on making people’s lives more comfortable. “This is a high standard, which provides a benchmark for us”, says Hermes. “We examine customer requirements early and from an all-round perspective.” In his opinion, this is the only way in which innovations can be successfully developed for many years. Again, man with his sound knowledge and keen sense for future technology and market requirements is the focus. “For us, a strong brand is the right mixture of strategy and consequence.” According to Hermes: “A brand can only develop the required brilliance within the triad of a good company culture, an internationally consistent brand image and in particular the joint enthusiasm of the entire workforce for the company values.”

The German Design Council also describes Wilo’s development as outstanding: “With its origins as a local expert in the pump industry, today Wilo develops highly innovative pump systems as a global player worldwide.” In addition to innovative ideas and technologically leading solutions, a stringent brand management also plays a crucial role. As Hermes states: “We have succeeded in developing from a ‘hidden’ to a ‘visible’ champion thanks to a rigorous, worldwide implementation of our corporate design across all communication channels. It is in this context that we not only regard the German Brand Award as a distinction, but also as an incentive to further strengthen our Wilo brand.”
