Wilo and Borussia Dortmund tour Asia

Wilo customers meet Borussia Dortmund players in China and Japan

Dortmund/Guangzhou. The Borussia Dortmund squad returned home with two wins in friendlies against the leading Japanese club Urawa Reds (3-2) and AC Milan (3-1). The team wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the trip to Asia: the week-long trip will also live long in the memory of customers of Dortmund-based pump manufacturer Wilo.

The game against AC Milan was watched by 19,000 spectators, while the match against Urawa Reds attracted a bumper crowd of 63,000. Wilo shares this enthusiasm for the Bundesliga, and for Borussia Dortmund in particular. A Champion partner of the club for many years, the Dortmund-based pump manufacturer supported the Asia tour and made it possible for customers to get close to two Borussia Dortmund players. Following the match against AC Milan in Guangzhou, Gonzalo Castro and Łukasz Piszczek took the time to meet with fans and answer questions posed by Wilo customers.

A close relationship between Wilo and Borussia Dortmund

“Borussia Dortmund is renowned around the world for its outstanding commitment, high level of precision and, last but not least, its love and passion for the game. These characteristics make Borussia Dortmund a perfect match for us”, explained Wilo Sales Director Carsten Krumm. “Moreover, both brands stand for the highest levels of quality and absolute reliability.” After the interview, Castro and Piszczek took the time to pose for lots of photos with fans and even showed off their skills in a target wall shooting contest.

Additional event in Korea

While not one of the stops on Borussia Dortmund’s trip to Asia this year, Wilo Korea still found a way to get involved in the action. With extensive use of the club’s colours, black and yellow, parts of the Wilo premises were transformed into a Borussia Dortmund lounge. Customers could take part in a special raffle, with prizes including Borussia Dortmund jerseys. The event was also well received by customers. “It’s another area where Borussia Dortmund and Wilo are in sync: we have a loyal, reliable and continuously growing fan base,” said a delighted Carsten Krumm.
