Dortmund. The initiative TOTAL E-QUALITY association Germany, which since 1996 has strived for the equal opportunity of men and women, has presented Wilo with the "TOTAL E-QUALITY". Businesses bestowed with this award have successfully established and embedded equal opportunity into their personnel and organisational structures in a sustainable manner. “Equal opportunity is an important issue for Wilo”, says Dr Patrick Niehr, personnel manager of the Wilo Group. “We are proud of this award, especially since it recognises our independent efforts to transition to an employee-friendly and fair personnel management.”
Annually for three years a jury gives out the award to economic, scientific and political organisations. Participating for the very first time, the Dortmund-based supplier of pumps and pump systems won the prestigious award, which proves a successful consensus between economic concerns and the interests of employees. “As an innovation leader we not only set standards on a product level, but we also carry this commitment through into the working world”, Dr Niehr explains Wilo’s commitment. It is not without reason that the association places such value on the voluntary obligations of companies. Since TOTAL E-QUALITY association Germany pursues the fundamental belief that the individual initiative of companies is the only way to achieve equal opportunity on a broad basis.
Until 2015 a total of 615 awards were presented to 283 organisations; Manuela Schwesig, Federal Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth describes the recipients as “beacons in our economy”.
